    TIaRT- So You Just Ran?

The Runners’ Lounge topic today is Choose Your Superpower.

I would choose to have the ability to run and keep running.

That’s right.  The power to run forever.  I would be able to run from the East Coast to the West Coast… and back!  I always think of this guy:

So whether I need the magic shoes…

Forrest Gump: Mama says they was magic shoes. They could take me anywhere.

Or the power to run like the wind…

Forrest Gump: Now you wouldn't believe me if I told you, but I could run like the wind blows. From that day on, if I was ever going somewhere, I was running!

That’s what I’d choose.  To be able to run forever.

Forrest Gump: When I got tired, I slept. When I got hungry, I ate. When I had to go, you know, I went.
Elderly Southern Woman on Park Bench: And so, you just ran?
    Forrest Gump: Yeah.

    Yeah.

My college actually had the cross country team run from the west coast to the east coast. They did this my freshman year of college and it was on the 25th anniversary of when the team first did it. It was really amazing - I wish i could have been part of it. The womens and mens teams ran in shifts (about 6 miles each i think) and made it across in about a week (maybe-cant remember right now).

J- omygosh,... i would LOVE to do that!!!!! such an incredible idea + team building, plus... talk about a tradition + leaving a legacy. how does it work-- run and a van/bus drives next to you? do you ever stop at all? does anyone sleep? WOW!!! thanks so much for telling me this, i am now wondering if it is possible for me to take a week off from work and put together a team... I'm adding it to the life list!!!! :)

I want it too! Where can I get my magic shoes? I've always dreamed of being one of those "run everywhere" people--> run 10 miles to work, run to the bank at lunchtime, run to the bathroom, run home, run to the grocery store, run across the country to visit a friend... this post really resonated with me!

Hi! Just getting back to your question: Back to Basics Month is Mark's attempt to make his own food for 4/7 days a week and my attempt to eat dinner at a table (not in front of a computer) and to eat the least amount of packaged/food like substances as possible!

I'm stealing your wish. Only I don't need the magic shoes - I need the magic bones. Then I'd be good to go.

Ame- your legs were prolly just tired! that def happens to all of us. i don't think you are out of shape cuz you have been in training and now you're in season, more likely your body is just tired. ...FRUMP! (Forrest Gump? wait, I'm confused...hehehehe. either way, i like it! haha).
