Interview Me! (That’s What She Said).

Aron at Runners Rambles gave me five great questions.

    1. What is your running history (how did you start, have you always been this fast :), etc)?

    • Aw, what a feel-good question!  I “ran track” in seventh grade, but I don’t remember anything about it other than a cute coach and breaking my arm in the high jump at the state meet.  I didn’t run track again until my senior year of high school- which I did to get in shape for college basketball.  I did the 800 and mile and was slower than most of the other girls, freshmen included.  I started “fun running” in college to stay in shape for basketball and because most of my non-basketball friends ran, too.  It became a habit and I never owned a watch or knew anything about distances; I just ran around Middlebury, VT.  One of my friends from home convinced me to run a road race at the end of college.  I think I won an age group prize and I was officially SMITTEN.  I started running small races around my NH hometown.  I considered myself officially a RUNNER when I beat a girl I had run track with senior year of high school in our town’s turkey trot.  She had been much faster than me in the 800 and mile but four years later I kicked her butt in a 4 mile race.  Improvements in speed and distance have come gradually.  New to me in the past year: longer distances, the half marathon, a running club, and marathon training.

    2. Do you have any bad habits?

    • Sigh, YES.  I am too competitive and a SORE LOSER.  I lost to Elliot in a game of Stratego and had to go to another room for ten minutes before I could talk to him without being grumpy.  I would also like to take up some bad habit space to apologize to my older sister for always taking her clothes when we were younger without asking, even after she told me not to.  Sorry, Kari!

    3. What is your favorite thing to eat for breakfast?

    • Banana-Blueberry Oatmeal with Dry Roasted Almonds, Cinnamon, and Scrambled Eggs!

    4. If you could meet one celebrity who would it be?

    • I would looooove to hang out with Michael Phelps and his dog!

    5. If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?

    • Among other things (bad skin, ears too sensitive to wear earrings) I would change my poor eye sight to PERFECT VISION!

    To play along:
    1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
    2. I will respond by emailing you five questions. (I get to pick the questions).
    3. You will update your blog with the answers to the questions.
    4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview others in the same post.
    5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

So cool that you got fast enough to beat a girl who'd been faster than you in high school! That's gotta feel good. I love your pictures below-- yay for smiling in race photos. Happy weekend!
