YESTERDAY…
- Woke up at Elliot’s- went to work.
- Worked all day- left work really tired.
- Went home and sort-of napped for an hour.
- Went to the gym to lift (Scheduled: Rest Day).
- Biked easy for 20 minutes with Women’s Health Magazine, sweated way more than the workout justified, then lifted, then showered.
- Went to the grocery store for a quick stop to pick up a few things to make Elliot and myself dinner.
- Left the grocery store and realized I had forgotten egg whites- a key component to oatmeal pancakes.
- Went back to the grocery store. Secured egg whites. Also grabbed Stacey’s Parmesan Garlic Pita Chips which I had passed up the first run through, but they were on sale and I knew Elliot would want something more than dinner to snack on. I also wanted to try them.
- Came home, brought groceries inside, realized wallet was in grocery bags, thought “oops” I’ll put it in my work bag and bring it with me tomorrow morning.
- Made dinner:
- banana-pumpkin oatmeal pancakes
- strawberries
- veggie+cilantro filled omelets
- Got a call that Elliot was arriving at the bus stop.
- Got in my car to go pick him up.
- STOPPED at the stop sign down the road from my house, BUT…
- GOT PULLED OVER by a cop sitting in his car next to the stop sign. He claimed I rolled through. He’s wrong.
- Cried.
- Got a warning only for the stop sign (um, hello, I STOPPED), BUT…
- Got a $35 ticket for not having my license in the car.
- Kept crying.
- Police officer said, “Now don’t get all choked up just because of me…” and then said, “Make sure you appeal this- just tell them you were making a quick trip to the bus stop.” WHY did you give me a ticket then if you’re going to tell me to just appeal it?!
- Kept crying- I get really upset when stupid and unnecessary things happen.
- Picked up Elliot.
- Elliot gave me $25 to stop crying, “Honey now your ticket only costs $10!”
- Stopped crying.
- Ate dinner.
- Watched Firefly.
- Couldn’t fall asleep- neighbors driveway light stayed on all night?!- Fell asleep eventually.
Please notice that Morning Core is ABSENT from my morning routine. As soon as I started morning running last week my mini morning core challenge went right out the window!!! I was too pressed for time with stretching and rolling. But I am determined to get back into it, and I’ll be sure to report daily.

oh no! Sucks about the ticket. Knock on wood, but I've yet to be stopped, but I'd cry too...
Can I just say that Elliot sounds like the nicest guy EVER!! Awww! You poor thing :( :(. What a jerk cop...I thought people have 24-48 hours to present their driver's license in court if you don't have it in the car. But maybe I'm really wrong. Anyways, I would've cried too, it's OK.
HOPE TOMORROW IS A BETTER DAY!! :)
Ah I would have for sure cried too :( Bummer day but Elliot sounds like the best guy! :) Hope things turn around soon!
i'm sorry you had such an ordeal with the cop. i loved what elliot did though to make you feel better. how was dinner? you've become quite the chef it seems. oh, and i love your title here, very fitting - the dan version is one of my favorite movies. love you.
Aww tickets are so frustrating, especially when it's just a forgetful mistake like leaving your license. :(
LOL sorry i am dying laughing that he paid you $25 :) what a sweetie.
I got a few tickets last year including a cell phone ticket and left turn where I wasn't supposed to ticket. NEITHER were cheap :( grrrrr
Ha! "now your ticket only costs 10$" he's awesome! That Cop?! NOT SO MUCH. I hate how little things like that can really just "get" to you (I'm the same way). Although those pancakes sound AMAZING :)
hope you've had a better day today!!!!
I love this post! It's so straight to the point and yet it just draws you in to read more.
That sucks about the cop. He must have been bored, especially if he just told you to appeal. We call the thing you got a ticket for a "California roll" cause everyone does that at stops signs here. But if you actually stopped then the ticket should not have been written.
But at least you have your knight in shining armor who turned that $35 ticket in to a $10 ticket. That was REALLY sweet of him :-)... unless that was just his way of getting you to stop crying so he didn't have to hear it anymore. :-) But I think it was cause he's sweet. :-)
Let's hope for a better day tomorrow.
Aww sorry about the ticket. That cop sounds like a dick!
Oh that totally stinks about the ticket! Hopefully you will get it repealed (is that the word? i must be really tired)
Wow, what a day! I'd have cried too. :o(
You need to get back on the morning core. You're my inspiration!
oh my gosh tickets always make me cry! i usually don't cry when the officer is there, but immediately afterwards I think things like but I'm such a good person, or I always follow the rules...sorry but elliot what a sweetie
Uh that sucks. I definitely would have cried. Well, I hope you do appeal. :D
I love that your man gave you $25 and it got you to stop crying. The SAME logic would work on me, for sure. Too funny.
lacey!!!!! i'm so sorry you got pulled over! that's EXACTLY what happened to me when i got pulled over back in high school! and i didn't have my license on me either! however, i wasn't as lucky as you and he gave me an $82 fine, and took my license away for 30/60 days (i forget) and i had never gotten a warning in my life!! i was sooooo pissed!!!!! ugh i hate stupid cops like that- that's nice elliot gave you $25 tho!! hehe stupid cop tho!! let me know if you do appeal!
p.s. would you mind emailing me that oatmeal pancake recipe!?!? :) thank u!!!
Man, that stinks about the ticket! I can't tell you the number of times I roll without my wallet on me.
I'm sorry you got a ticket but I have to say I laughed at Elliot offering you money to stop crying, that's very sweet:)
Love the run-down of your day. Bummer about the ticket, though!!!
